Privacy Policy
How we handle your information.
Last updated: 26 May 2026
The Social Edit ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, store and disclose your personal information, in line with the Australian Privacy Principles set out in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
What we collect
We only collect information that's necessary to run the studio, communicate with you, and deliver our services. That includes:
- Your name, email address and phone number when you submit an enquiry
- Your business name, location and current website (if you share them)
- Project details you tell us about voluntarily — budget, timeline, services of interest
- Anonymous analytics data (pages visited, device type, general location) when you browse the site
How we use it
Your personal information is used to:
- Reply to your enquiry and discuss whether we're a fit
- Deliver the services you've engaged us for
- Send you the studio notes newsletter, if you've opted in
- Understand how the site is being used so we can improve it
We never sell your information. We never share it with anyone outside the studio unless we have your explicit permission, or we're legally required to.
How we store it
Information you submit through the contact form is stored in our secure email inbox and our project management tools, all of which use industry-standard encryption. Newsletter sign-ups are managed through a reputable email platform that complies with international data protection standards.
Cookies and analytics
This site may use small amounts of cookies and analytics tools (such as Google Analytics) to understand traffic patterns. These tools collect anonymous, aggregated data — they don't identify you personally. You can turn off cookies in your browser settings if you'd prefer.
Your rights
Under Australian privacy law, you have the right to:
- Ask what personal information we hold about you
- Request that we update or correct your information
- Request that we delete your information from our records
- Withdraw consent for marketing communications at any time
- Lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC)
Newsletter unsubscribes
Every newsletter email includes an unsubscribe link. One click and you're off the list — no questions, no follow-ups.
Third-party links
Our site links out to other websites (clients, tools, articles). We're not responsible for the privacy practices of those external sites — please check their own privacy policies.
Changes to this policy
If we update this policy, we'll change the "last updated" date at the top. Material changes will be communicated to active clients and newsletter subscribers.
